#2015 Best Nine!

Yoga at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, California during Sunset! Bucket list travel goalsRight around new years, #2015bestnine was trending on Instagram and everyone posted their most liked moments of 2015. This got me thinking about the year that had just passed. Not in terms of Instagram likes, but of what I had liked the most throughout the year, in real life.

After doing a recap of 2014, I actually learned that it’s a great exercise in gratitude. Wether it be in achievements, total bliss or harder teachable moments. I usually think that the year has consisted of a lot of just same old, same old. That’s until I sit down and do a recap so here it goes, my nine best moments of 2015. I’d love to hear about yours, so be sure to share some of your 2015 favorites in the comments!

1. Beach Bonanza

Baker Beach in January in San Francisco, California. I spent more days than I can count at the beach this year. I love the feeling of being at the beach and spending more time there was definitely a goal for 2015. Fresh ocean breeze, the smell, hearing the waves crash in, and then the endless opportunities of staring out at a big ocean. I always get my best planning or thinking done at the beach.

2. Surprise Visit to Norway

Bryggen in Bergen, Norway during Winter. I didn’t get to home for Christmas last year and even though we had a great time in Montreal I was bummed I didn’t get to see my family over the holidays. I knew my mom wished I could have been there as well so in mid January, I got this kick that I just had to go see them. A couple days later, I booked tickets and thought, how cool would it be if I just showed up as a surprise? I only told two of my frequent traveling friends and my brother I was coming to make sure they would all be there. Surprisingly enough, we were all able to keep quiet for what felt like the longest month in a lifetime! The distance from San Francisco to Bergen is about 5000 miles and a good 14 hour flight so no wonder my mom didn’t suspect anything. My friend picked me up from the airport and drove me straight to my moms house. I will never forget the look of surprise, excitement and joy on my mom’s face when she opened the front door.

3. I Freaking met Sarah Jessica Parker! #lifegoals

That Time I met Sarah Jessica Parker - Repolished.comI still can’t believe that this actually happened. I never thought I would have a full on “fangirl” moment, but I sure did. Read the full story here.

4. Fashion Focused

San Francisco Fashion Week- Maxi Skirt from Stitch Fix, Black Leather Jacket from HM, Grey skull head shirt from Marshalls. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed more #ootd’s or “outfit of the day” posts popping up last year. Needless to say, I am getting influenced by having so many fashionista’s around me at work, and the excitement over a great outfit is definitely rubbing off on me.

5. Blogging with Brands

Testing Mizuno Running Shoes at the Tracks in San FranciscoI really love having this blog as a creative outlet for all my fun DIY projects and recipe experiments, but it’s also a place where I can learn, grow and connect with so many amazing women! In 2015, I took it to the next level and had the pleasure of partnering up with brands such as Mizuno, Minted, Next Issue, Yves Saint Laurent and more.

6. I Signed up for another Half Marathon and I didn’t run it

14 best of 2014: San Francisco Half MarathonIn 2014, I ran my first first half marathon and it gave me a real kick! It’s something I thought I never could, and never would do. I am competitive at heart and decided to sign up again to beat my previous time. I ended up not taking my own advice of using a training schedule, which resulted in a sciatic nerve injury. I was incredibly disappointed I couldn’t run the race, but I made the right call. After struggling with that for almost six months, I am finally now able to run more consistently again.

7. Mom 2.0 blogging conference

Heather Armstrong's (Dooce) at Mom 2.0 Summit 2015- Courage of Compassion - Repolished.comI went to Mom 2.0 for the first time last year and I was blown away by all the amazing ladies cheering each other on and the supportive community. If you have a blog and are considering a blog conference, this is the one to go to. It doesn’t matter if you have kids or not. The quality of speakers, the community, the swag and not to mention the resort, it’s all amazing.

8. I Didn’t sweat the small stuff

Yoga at Ocean Beach in San Francisco, California during Sunset! Bucket list travel goalsI became more at peace with what matters most to me in 2015 and tried to not sweat the small stuff. I am a super goal oriented person and have had lists upon lists of goals for years. In 2014, I hit a lot of my goals and needed to create new long-term ones. Turns out, easier said than done. 2015 was the year of learning to relax and just be me. Not the “wish-this-was-me”, just me. Goals are still important, but I needed this year to figure out what I really wanted my future to look like.

9. Travel bug

Chicago Downtown in the summertime! Amazing city with mix of big city, beach by the lake, and good food! I travelled a lot last year! I am lucky that I get to travel for work, but it’s also something I love to do so I try to get out there as much as possible. In 2015 I went to Bergen, Scottsdale, Las Vegas, Austin, Houston (where I survived a 2 AM tornado storm in the bathtub!), New York, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Oslo, Geilo, and Copenhagen.

What was your best moments of 2015? I’d love to hear them! Follow along on my instagram @hegetho for all the everyday fun

Until Next Time, Hadet På Badet!
