Every year, Nordstrom has their annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it’s a huge event! The pre-sale event has been live for a little over a week so if you have the Nordstrom credit card you might have already gone crazy and shopped half the store, but if you’re like me, you’ve been waiting for the public event to start already. It’s finally here! It starts today, July 22nd.
The great thing about the Anniversary Sale is that it’s not only leftover summer styles that go on sale, it’s also pre-fall styles and so many great pieces. I made a little mental list of what I am looking for this fall season and some items I want to invest in quality wise, but let’s be real, a lower price for the same item is always better! The sale goes until August 7th, but things sell out pretty fast!
What are some pieces you’re getting for this fall season? Did you score big on the Nsale this year? Let me know if you found something good that I missed in the comments. I LOVE a good deal :)
A while back I did a big purge of my closet and realized that I have a LOT of jeans. They all fit, but they are all the same, just different washes. Mostly skinny jeans with a few boyfriend styles mixed in here and there. I basically wanted to get rid of half of them, but that would have been such a waste. So instead of throwing away or donating perfectly fine jeans, I decided to give a few of them a little old school DIY makeover for spring and summer. Continue reading →
In San Francisco we don’t have real seasons and because of that you have to keep all summer, fall, winter and spring clothes available at any given time. It could be 85 one day and 50 the next, which means you can never pack anything away and your closet is probably jam packed! However, seasonal fashion is still a thing. When September rolls around, I still want to wear a cool blanket scarf and booties even though it’s in the 70’s outside.
It was so cold last week so this weekend, I was very happy to be back to the sunny California I am used to and love! I have been working out a lot latelty and this weekend was no different. I did some pop physique, a city hike, shoe shopping AND I got my Stitch Fix!After signing up for the half marathon last month, I knew that I had to get back into pre-race training shape in order to get a better race time. I am also going to spend a significant amount of time in a bikini this spring, so two birds in one! I tried Pop Physique a few times with some of my coworkers last year and liked it so I bought a GILT deal a with 10 classes to give it a better try. Have you ever tried it? I think it’s a pretty good workout! It’s a mix of ballet strength movements, barre routines, and regular strength. They focus mostly on the smaller muscle groups in your arms and upper body and then lots and lots of thighs and glutes! I feel like in am in pretty good shape, but my thighs are shaking every single class! It’s a good 20-25 minutes walk from my house so I get the added cardio to warm up and then I can Facetime with my mom and friends on my way! :) I went both days this weekend and was pretty sore come Monday morning!
I got my Fix on Friday and got some really cute stuff! Here is a couple of my favorites.Love the movement in this dress! It has a lower slit on each side so it really flows with the wind! It’s called Mystree Andria Maxi Dress. This is the Wells Grace Zedd Lace Overlay Blouse :)
On Sunday I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival with a couple of friends, but the Cherry Blossoms were nowhere to be seen! I don’t know if it’s too early or too late, but it might have something to do with the cold weather last week. We ended up walking through the Fillmore and over the hills down to Union and Chestnut Street in the Marina. Perfect Sunday stroll through the city!Cutest little hotel! How was your weekend?
Have you ever done laundry and had the “uh oh” moment? Yep, so have I. More than once in fact! It’s usually something that’s not supposed to go in the dryer and somehow it ended up there anyways. I finally found a method to unshrink clothing and it actually works!Shirt from H&M
How to unshrink clothes
Fill up a bucket/bowl of lukewarm water. Make sure it’s not too hot.
Add in 1 tbls of soft hair conditioner. I usually use this one, but I am sure any kind of soft conditioner would work.
Soak the piece of clothing for 30 minutes and gently stretch the piece of clothing back to its original shape. Hand wash to rinse out the conditioner and lay flat to dry.
And it’s as good as new! :) This has worked every time I try it! The conditioner relaxes the fibers of the clothing and makes it soft so it’s easy to stretch back into shape.
