There are a lot of things to do in Palm Springs. You can take the Palm Spring Tram up to the mountain for a hike, do some serious shopping, eat plenty of tacos, lay by the pool and admire all the fun flamingo floats or you can go on a fun Instagram tour. There is not an actual Instagram tour set up, but I attended one with Mixbook and Salty Canary during the ALT Summit conference earlier this year and it was so much fun. We went to see amazing architecture, cactuses, city sights, palm trees and all the colorful doors, including “that pink door”!
Saguaro Hotel Palm Springs
The Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs is so colorful and the ultimate photo opportunity! The pool area itself is a great shot, but you can also find a colorful wall around every corner. My only regret is that I didn’t take a nap in the hammocks. The Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs looks so cool! Colorful walls and floating flamingo cup holders… Click To Tweet
Palm Springs City Hall
The Palm Springs City hall was designed in 1952 by Albert Frey and has become an iconic piece of mid century architecture. There are even palm trees through the roof of the building! The metal tube shaped walls are not only there for cool esthetic, but they also serve a purpose. The metal tubes are angled down to deflect sunshine from the building wall.
Instagram Doors in Palm Springs
If you love hanging out on Instagram, you’ve probably seen #thatpinkdoor in Palm Springs. The door has become more and more famous as people love the 10 foot pink door and now it even has it’s own instagram account. Located only a few minutes away from the Saguaro Hotel, it’s worth a visit. While the pink door is great, it turns out that Palm Springs have more than one colorful door up it’s sleeve. On our tour we visited a gated community with tons of amazing mid century houses with colorful doors, but I am sure you can spot them all over Palm Springs.Looking for colorful doors in Palm Springs? Palm Springs Cactus Garden
Cactuses and Succulents have become more and more popular in the past few years. Because Palm Springs is basically in the desert, it’s a natural part of landscaping here. I was amazed by all the cool gardens that went along with the houses we saw. I am allergic to pollen flowers, so a garden full of succulents and cactuses would be my dream garden.
Going into the Moorten Botanical Garden was so much fun! They have every single cactus you can ever imagine and more than I even knew existed. You can find the world’s largest cactus here as well as the worlds first cactarium!Amazing guide to Palm Springs including all the best photo spots! #palmsprings #thatpinkdoor… Click To Tweet
